Sanyo SCP-7050

The Sanyo SCP-7050 is a great clamshell phone for everyday use or even business use. This basic phone comes equipped with the necessities and nicely delivers convenience and reliability into a good looking, stylish package.

One of the major features of this phone is the clamshell design. Unfortunately, it does have an external antenna stub, with a pullout antenna. The exterior of the phone has a great feel and is rubberized so dropping it once or twice shouldn't result in damage. While the exterior of the phone feels nice and comfortable, those that wear tight jeans will find that it sticks to the inside of the pockets when inserting and removing, which can at times be an annoyance. Other than that the only drawback is the small stub that can be uncomfortable at times.

The Sanyo SCP-7050 has two display screens; the internal screen which is big, bright and colorful and the external which shows Caller-ID and the many phone functions such as battery power and signal reception. The keypad is easy to depress and relatively comfortable for those with fat fingers. The phone is very basic and extremely easy to use with all the functionality you would expect.

The phone has decent battery life with about 4.5 hours of talk time and several days of stand by. I usually charge my phone each night, but for those that don't, a charge should last for at least several days with normal use. The phone includes a high quality speakerphone and PTT (push to talk), which both worked well.

All and all this phone is very reliable and operates very well. For those that need a quality phone for business or their day to day lives, this definitely is a practical and popular choice.

• For what the Sanyo SCP-7050 sets out to do, it succeeds at. This phone is extremely reliable, easy to use and looks very stylish
• Internal display screen looks great, external display is very practical showing Caller-ID and basic information
• Speakerphone and PTT technology worked well
• Reception and battery were more than adequate

Cons

Two small things to consider when choosing this phone, first, the stub antenna and secondly for those that wear tight jeans, the rubberized outer case will make inserting and removing the phone difficult, as the phone tends to stick to the inner pockets.

Overall

The Sanyo SCP-7050 is an extremely reliable and practical phone for business use and day to day home use. While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, it still delivers great functionality.
