Most cell phone companies like to name their phones very nondescriptly. Take a look at phones like the HTC Touch or the Nokia N95. Bland and boring. Sanyo, a company not exactly known for producing high quality phones, however, has a different plan of action. Name the phone something that will appeal to the younger crowd and you've got a sure seller. Take the Sanyo Katana-DLX, for example. A phone that provides some interesting features for the average person at a good price while offering a name that you simply can't resist telling your friends. The Sanyo Katana-DLX is a clamshell phone designed to run on the CDMA network. It can only be used in America and a couple other parts of the world and is currently sold by Sprint. Like most CDMA phones (even the most basic), the Sanyo Katana-DLX offers 3G support for fast data transfer, making it perfect for those who like to take advantage of song and video downloads. Measuring in at approximately three and a half inches by two inches by half an inch, the Sanyo Katana-DLX is a pretty small device. It weighs just shy of one hundred grams at 99 grams, so you will feel it in your pocket when you carry it around. Much like so many other small and light phones, the Sanyo Katana-DLX only provides for four hours of talk time and an undisclosed amount of standby time from its battery. The Sanyo Katana-DLX comes with a lot of features that are perfect for the teenage and young adult audience that this phone is targeted to. There is a rather large 262 thousand color screen which reaches a resolution of 240 pixels by 320 pixels. An attractive additional display on the front displays Caller-ID among other features. A 1.3 Megapixel digital camera is built in with an impressive twelve times digital zoom and various photo effects. Obviously, a movie and video player is also included. Memory can be expanded with microSD cards. Also built into the Sanyo Katana-DLX are Bluetooth support, a speakerphone, GPS support, and various voice command features. Pros
Cons
OverallIf you can get a deal on this phone, the Sanyo Katana-DLX is a great investment. It has a variety of useful features and looks pretty cool.
