Samsung SGH-A737 |
A lightweight phone that is barely over three ounces, the Samsung SGH-A737 utilizes the popular slide form factor design. The stereo Bluetooth makes the phone functional for business use as well as personal. While the camera is pretty much standard, it is relatively easy to use and turns out good quality images. Mailing the images to an email address is a quick and easy process, somewhat less of an effort than with some models. The Samsung A737 has lived up to the Samsung reputation by offering a very attractive display screen, with excellent graphics and attractive animations. Out in the sun, or even in direct view of fluorescent light, the display can be a little difficult to see, but few cell phones are without this problem to one degree or another. While the A737 looks great, it is probably not the best choice for anyone who uses the handheld device a lot. The talk life for the phone is a scant three hours between charges. Even the standby time is somewhat lackluster, with only a little more than ten days. Call quality on the phone was pretty good, though it could have been clearer. Particularly of problem were weird volume issues. It seemed that the volume tended to go in and out, even as the clarity of the calls remained strong. Whether this bothers you as the user will probably vary from case to case. However, the signal strength seemed quite good and was certainly better than average. Still, the Samsung SGH-A737 is not bad for the price. Users who need a reliable unit with a few bells and whistles but don't depend on using the phone for hours on end will find the A737 worth looking into. Pros
Cons
Final Thoughts:While not the best phone on the market, or even the best in the Samsung family of handheld devices, the A737 is an affordable and relatively basic unit that may work well for a number of residential customers.
