The Pantech PX-500 PC card is a great way to get a broadband Internet connection when you are away from a wifi hotspot or on the go. The Pantech PX-500 PC card very easily fits into your laptops PCMCIA card slot and transmits and receives data through your mobile phone provider. This card works only for networks covered by Sprint. The speeds of the Pantech PX-500 PC card are very quick. In my case, I was able to get download speeds approaching 2.4 Mbps and uploading files were slower at around 150 Kbps. It is possible to even get quicker speeds (3.1 Mbps download speeds and 1.8 Mbps upload using EVDO Rev A technology) What I liked the most about the Pantech PX-500 PC card is that you can easily access the Internet without worrying about finding a wifi hotspot. I can now have Internet broadband access anywhere I have Sprint phone coverage. Most of my traveling takes place in urban and suburban locations, so finding Sprint coverage is not an issue for me, however check for coverage before you purchase this card. For the most part this PC card worked very well, with little or no quality issues. The card worked seamlessly during my use with no dropouts or issues. The Pantech PX-500 PC is extremely easy to hook up, just install the software, slide the card into your laptop's PC card slot, click a few buttons and you are up and running. Configuration is a breeze and the software is easy to use and understand. I am running Windows XP which this card is compatible with. I believe it is also compatible with Windows 2000 as well. Unfortunately, this card does not work with Mac operating systems. The price of the Pantech PX-500 PC card is very affordable, I paid $0 since I signed up for a contract, however if you are buying it outright expect to pay around the $100 mark. Pros
Cons
OverallThe Pantech PX-500 PC card is a great way to access the Internet no matter where you are. There is no longer any need to seek out wifi hotspots.
