Phone Design

Nokia N85

The Nokia N85 is a sleek two-way slider phone available in jet-black color. You can flip it horizontally or vertically to maximize the screen display, or slide it left or right depending on the multimedia feature.

Multimedia Camera

You can capture crystal clear photos with its 5-megapixel camera. The experience is further heightened with the display’s use of OLED technology for enhanced viewing and faster response times.

Gaming Options

The phone is also a game capsule because of preloaded games available for the user to try out. After playing these games, you get one game for free. Dedicated keys for gaming create a unique experience for the user that is not available on other phones.

Music Playing

Its music player comes complete with playlists, multiple selections of songs, equalizer, and skins. The 28 hours playback of tunes is a proof of the power of its 1200 mAh BL-5K battery. Plus, the phone also comes complete with its very own USB charging - it is actually the first N-series phone to support USB charging.

Connectivity Options

The phone is also a mammoth of connectivity. Aside from being a quad band GSM, it is also GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, WCDMA, and WLAN enabled.

Pros

  • It can do everything that an N96 phone can do with an added plus in design and battery power. The phone is slimmer and its camera has a lens cover.
  • The phone design has incorporated different environments for gaming, Internet browsing, music playing, and standard phone services using a two-way sliding concept and a vertical or horizontal positioning of the phone.

Cons

  • Slider phones have long been criticized because of problems related to their sliding feature. Similar to problems with moving parts, a sliding phone faces the problem of becoming loose over time, and accumulation of dirt in the phone slides will follow. The N85 phone is no exception because of its two-way sliding.

Overall

The public expects a great deal from the N85 phone, and the phone surely does meet their expectations. Nokia made an effort to individualize the experience of the phone user while web browsing, listening to music, playing a game, or just plainly using mobile services and it has quite succeeded.
