Nokia 6800

Nokia 6800

The Nokia 6800 is the perfect phone for anyone who wants to be able to quickly and easily send both text and email messages. It may look like a standard phone, but its innovative design allows users to flip it open in order to access a keyboard. Truly a must have for anyone wishing to be in contact with friends, family, and co-workers.

The Nokia 6800 is designed as a messaging device. It doesn't use the standard ABC or T-9 input. Instead, users need only to flip the phone open to find a keyboard that is fully functional and easy to use. The 6800 supports SMS text messages, as well as MMS multimedia messages and email. This basically means that users can send any type of message from this phone. Mobile phone users have probably noticed that SMS messaging is becoming more and more common in cell phone applications. Nokia is making sure to stay abreast with the latest, and most wanted technology when it comes to sending and receiving messages via a mobile phone, which is good news to users. What makes it even more convenient is that messages can be sent without having to open the phone, although the keyboard does make it easier. When sending messages, the gallery allows users to see and preview all saved MMS messages, in addition to ring tones and backgrounds. Users can easily speak to whomever they so choose on the phone, and then, in an instant, flip the phone open, reveal the keyboard, and send a message with no problems.

The 6800 does offer a radio, which is a great feature offered on many of today's phones. But, there is a little bit of a flaw in the radio's design. It seems that, in order to listen to the radio feature, users must plug a headset directly into the phone. Once plugged in, the user can clearly listen to the music that he or she so chooses. Users can opt to choose the loudspeaker function once the headset has been plugged in. Choosing this function will cause the radio to play through the phone's speakers. What is really odd is that the radio will no longer play through the phone's speakers once the headset has been unplugged. Although this may seem like quite an odd feature that users probably won't find with many other phones, there is a good thing about the radio. It will stop playing when a call comes through to the phone.

Nokia's 6800 does come with several other options that users will enjoy. The XHTML browser is a wonderful option. It will let users connect to just about any full featured website, and even those that may not properly load on a desktop personal computer. There are also java applications pre-loaded into the device. If a user finds that he or she needs an application not previously installed in the phone, many are able to be downloaded to the 6800 through a variety of websites. Games also come pre-installed on the 6800, such as Bounce and Triple Pop. Both play well and are easy to see on the phone's superb color screen. Anyone using this phone for work-related activities, as well as those activities that are personal, there is a calendar that allows for easy storage of important times and dates. It can be synced up to Outlook, and is also works quite well in cooperation with the Nokia PC Suite software that is can be downloaded directly from Nokia's website. You can view daily entries, as well as an entire month. Storing and using phone numbers and email address's with the 6800 is also quite easy. Up to 500 contacts can be stored in the phone's address book. And, as an added bonus, each contact can e associated with multiple phone numbers. There is also a Notes feature that allows the users to include any pertinent information needed about each contact. The user can also use the Notepad application to store longer notes that aren't associated with specific contact. Each note can be fairly long, allowing up to 3,000 characters to be stored.

As aforementioned, the color screen offered with the 6800 allows users to see quite clearly. It has 128 x 128 pixels, and up to 4,096 colors can be seen on its extremely high-resolution color display. Navigating through the phone's features is easy with the use of the four-way joystick. If a user prefers not to have the phone ring, there is a vibrator option, as well as a vibrator alert option. The phone is small, weighing in at just 4.3 ounces, so it is lightweight enough to take just about anywhere easily and comfortably. Users will get quite a bit of life out of each battery charge. The phone averages about 4 and a half hours of talk time, and about 10 days of standby time, which are both very good totals compared to other similar mobile phones on the market today. Both users and potential 6800 users will be happy to learn that the phone will also soon be able to synchronize, much like the BlackBerry is able to do.

The Nokia 6800, also referred to as a Messaging Device, is the perfect mobile phone for anyone who is on the go, yet needs to find a way to stay connected to friends, family, and co-workers. Users can either opt to use it as a regular phone, or can flip it open to reveal the keyboard that makes sending text messages and emails messages very easy. What makes it so great is the ability to send SMS and MMS messages, as well as emails to anyone a user may which. In addition, unlimited GPRS can be purchased from any user's mobile phone service provider. However, since this phone's radio feature can only used in conjunction with headphones, it isn't recommended for anyone interested in having a wonderful media player that can easily be used just about anywhere without any phone accessories.
