Nokia 6555 |
The Nokia 6555 is a new clamshell flip phone that brings style to a marketplace that most companies would simply neglect – the average man or woman who is just looking for a device with the bare essentials. This is one of those devices that often score low in many reviews because the reviewer expects too much from it. But when it comes to low end phones such as the Nokia 6555, it is important to remember who it is for, and rate the phone based on what features it includes instead of taking points off for lack of features here and there. One of the most important features that the Nokia 6555 has going for it is its ability to surf the data highway at high 3G speeds. Taking advantage of the global roaming via a quad band GSM network, the Nokia 6555 is able to go anywhere and everywhere during your travels. Although this style of giving lower end customers some extra flexibility is starting to catch on, it is still a rarity. Kudos to AT&T and Nokia. Although the Nokia 6555 is a small phone, measuring in at four inches by two inches by one inch, and under 100 grams, it has an impressive battery underneath its plastic shell. While larger phones often only put out three hours of talk time, the Nokia 6555 manages to muster a whopping six and a half hours of talk time and three hundred hours of stand by time. Once again, an impressive feature on a phone for the everyman. The good stuff doesn't stop there. As far as features go, the Nokia 6555 packs in an impressive set. Starting with the large 240 pixels by 320 pixels, sixteen million color screen all the way down to the music and video player with expandable memory via microSD, this phone has a lot of cool stuff packed into it. Without a doubt, the only real problem with the Nokia 6555 is its digital camera. Despite all of the other goodies that were added to this device, the Nokia 6555 only has a 1.3 Megapixel digital camera with six times digital zoom. That seems strange considering that a majority of the free phones offered by AT&T have digital cameras that are 2 Megapixels or more. Pros
Cons
OverallAs a phone for the average person who doesn't want anything fancy, the Nokia 6555 is possibly the perfect device. It has all of the features you need and none of the ones you don't.
