Nokia 6136 |
The Nokia 6136 is the first Nokia phone in the United States that uses UMA technology. UMA technology makes it easy to surf the web or download off the web using Wi-Fi technology. This is a great feature if you want to use VoIP technology to make long distance or international calls for free or a reduced rate. Besides UMA technology, this phone offers lots of features, first it is a clamshell design that has an internal antenna, which is great, especially for people that don't like an antenna stub or pull out antenna. The reception I received from the phone was more than adequate and I did not experience any dropped calls. The Nokia 6136 has two display screens, the main display inside the clamshell and the external display screen which is very convenient and displayed relevant info. The display was bright enough, even in sunlight situations. This phone also includes a music player, plus an FM radio, you can even use the UMA to stream Internet radio stations and combined with the Bluetooth capability onboard, you can easily synch your music to a wireless headset device. Other features included push to talk technology and a speakerphone. The speakerphone lacked enough power, but the push to talk technology onboard made it easy to communicate with my buddies. If you are looking for a phone with a decent digital camera on board, the 6136 includes a mega pixel+ camera that has zoom and video capture. Along with the UMA, I was easily able to send my images to my email address with ease. The phone was extremely easy to use and has an intuitive user interface. I was able to navigate the menu structure in just a few seconds. Pros
Cons
OverallThe Nokia 6136 is a great phone and a good first effort to include UMA technology.
