Motorola KRZR K1m

Just when cell phone users thought it couldn't get any better than the popular RAZR, Motorola yet again amazed the public by introducing the Motorola KRZR K1m. Its sleek design and functionality make it a must-have for any cell phone aficionado.

The sleek, and very elegant design of the Motorola KRZR K1m make it beautiful, while the multiple functions it offers make it perfect for anyone who require a top-of-the-line cell phone to meet just about any mobile communication needs. If you need a phone that will keep you connected to your family, friends, and work, as well as the world around you, this is the phone for you. The Motorola KRZR K1m comes equipped with the popular Bluetooth wireless technology, as well as a music player, a camera featuring 1.3 mega pixels, and also much needed GPA capabilities. As aforementioned, the phone's design is sleek, yet bold. It's all about the aesthetics with the Motorola KRZR K1m. It has a slim profile, which makes it easy to carry in anything from your briefcase to your pocket, soft touch covering, and the surface features a beautiful high-gloss finish. The phone's front panel is virtually mirror-like. Unlike the RAZR's 2.08 inch width, the Motorola KRZR K1m is a compact 1.73 inches in width. However, this is the only thing that is smaller than the RAZR. The K1m is .67 inches thick, while the RAZR is only .57 inches. The K1m is 4.05 inches in length and the RAZR is only 3.86 inches. When the handset is open, the RAZR is just about one quarter inch shorter than the K1m. Both phone feature a microphone close to the mouth for easy talking, however the K1m weighs in a mere .11 ounces more than the RAZR. These differences may seem slight to some, but if size matters, it should be known that the Motorola KRZR K1m is just a tad larger than the RAZR.

The 1.3 mega pixel camera on the Motorola KRZR K1m is quite easy to use. The camera's lens is located just above the phone's display. Pictures can be taken with this phone in four resolutions: 1,280x1024, 640x480, 320x240, and 160x120. However, there is a lack of settings selections. Other options included in the camera function are the multishot option, a self-timer, white-balance and brightness controls, three different color effects, an astounding 8X zoom, three shutter sounds that also include a silent option, and also 10 fun frames. Included with the camera is a camcorder mode. In this mode you can shoot clips with sound in 175x144 resolutions. The editing options offered for the camcorder mode are fairly similar to those offered for the still camera. Although you are able to shoot for as long as you can until memory runs out, any videos meant to be used as multimedia messages can only be 14 seconds long.

The integrated music player on the phone allows you to ditch your other music players and carry just one device with you. Simply download songs to your phone and you'll have all of your favorite music right there at the touch of a button. The sound quality on the Motorola KRZR K1m is good. Everything and everyone sounds quite clear and easy to hear. In fact, the volume is actually a little louder than you would expect from a mobile phone. The only problem with the music player is that it can be a bit more sluggish than you are used to. There may be a slight pause when navigating through the player, and songs can take a little longer to download than they normally would for a standard music player. In addition to the music player, the Motorola KRZR K1m also offers a V Cast video option for anyone who likes to view video clips while on the go. Twin speakers found on the chin area of the phone allow for good volume while using both the music player and the video player. There is no headset jack included, however, but you can use the included adaptor for ue with a mono headset. If you plan to use your own headphones, you will be required to purchase a separate adaptor.

Anyone used to navigating the RAZR will recognize the navigation and keypad options on the Motorola KRZR K1m. The four-way toggle buttons also work as a shortcut to four functions to be defined by the user. The OK button found in the center of the toggle buttons opens the phone's menu. There are two soft keys surround the toggle keys, one is the Clear/Back key, and the other is the key that allows you to either talk to the person on the line, ends your call, or turns the phone on and off. The good thing about the keys on the K1m is that they are small, but still comfortably large enough for users with larger fingers. While using the keys to scroll through the phone's features, you'll find a spacious phone book that allows users to add 1,000 contacts. You can add up to two email addresses and five phone numbers for each contact, as well. Contacts can be organized into groups, or can be paired with a picture and/or one of the 20 ring tones offered. Other basic features you will find include a vibration mode, a useful voice recorder, multimedia and text messaging options, a handy alarm clock, a calendar, a notepad, a calculator, a notepad, and also a world clock. In addition, the phone features a speakerphone, voice commands and dialing, a miniature USB port, e-mail capabilities, and also PC syncing. As aforementioned, the Motorola KRZR K1m is equipped with Bluetooth, however there are limited options. You are unable to use the Bluetooth to transfer ring tones or music files, but, through Verizon, you can use it to transfer pictures. Useable memory available is 18MB, which may seem a bit small, but there is a slot for a Micro SD card for extra memory. Talk time on the Motorola KRZR K1m is rated at 4.2 hours, while the phone's standby time is actually 18 days.
