Disabling Internet Explorer Script Errors

Most of the time, Internet Exporer Script Errors are nuisances. If you are tired of seeing errors that are beyond your control, you can choose to disable the messages.

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Open the Tools menu
  • Select the Internet Options menu item
  • Open the Advanced tab
  • Check the box next to "Disable script debugging"
  • Remove the check next to "Display a notification about every script error"
  • Click the OK button

Repairable Causes of Internet Explorer Script Errors

In some cases, the error is something which you can change or repair on your PC. These issues include:

  • Java Applets, Active scripting, ActiveX controls are being blocked. This blocking can be the due to the configuration of Internet Explorer, an antivirus program, a PC firewall, or a network firewall.
  • Your antivirus software is configured to scan your Downloaded Program Files or Temporary Internet Files folders.
  • The relevant scripting engine on your computer is corrupt or outdated.
  • Internet-related folders on your computer are corrupt.
  • Your video card drivers are corrupt or outdated.
  • DirectX is corrupt or outdated on your computer.
