JAQ3's quad band (850, 900, 1800, and 1900) ability makes it convenient to bring almost anywhere. In addition, it supports infrared, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPRS/EDGE. Wi-Fi users can take advantage of its lightning speed connectivity through its 802.11b/g network capability. Its Bluetooth connectivity, on the other hand, is version 1.2 and is mostly compatible with other accessories. GPRS / EDGE support tops it all - making worry-free connections which gives you options when you want to stay updated or keep in touch. But the only disappointment here is that it has no 3G functionality, which is something that even simple mobile phone handsets already have. The feel of the JAQ3 on the hand is also amazing - even when it's made of plastic. You can still feel its rubbery texture, thus making it smudge-free and easy to grip. Yes, there are no worries about dropping that expensive mobile phone. There are eight buttons which are all strategically placed around the phone for easy access. Stereo Speakers produce excellent audio quality. The 2.5 mm headphone and head set jacks are separate from the USB port which is new to PDA-phones. Running on 200 MHz TI OMAP CPU, 64 MB RAM and 128 MB flash memory of which 45MB is available, add up the microSD slot located on top of the phone, and these features make this small machine impressive. You can confidently run applications without lags, and multitasking with this mobile handset is easy. Applications such as Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone with Direct Push technology give you access to calendar events, contacts, and email privileges with a push of a button. i-mate's innovative manufacturers also added their own special suite that includes the Java virtual machine.A J2ME, MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1. Programs that basically let you do everything over the air like backup, restore, program installation, and file transfer together with even blocking or locking mechanisms in the event of stolen units all come bundled with this mobile phone. Basic Windows office applications are still available. Outlook, calendar, contacts, Word and PowerPoint, all make working a lot of fun with this mobile phone handset. Like any other device, it needs power to run, and i-mate JAQ3's rechargeable 1250 mAh Lithium Ion Battery has a talk time of 4-5 hours. Additional features of this mobile phone such as its touch screen is a plus. But with its small screen, it's frustrating to use since the stylus is almost unnoticeable on the side - so small and hard to remove, one would rather use the function keys instead. Reading long and extensive presentations will also be a problem due to the sher size of its screen - a flaw that manufacturer's forgot to improve on, but they compensated this aspect for its full screen view options.
