Another smartphone offering from HTC, the Touch Viva promises to deliver full multimedia content access as well as professional productivity capabilities. The Touch Viva offers a more “middle of the road” package of features but does include some stand out capabilities.
Device Dimensions and AppearanceAvailable in the “candybar” form factor, the HTC Touch Viva measures 104.5 x 59 x 15.8 mm and weighs 110 grams. The Touch Viva's appearance is reminiscent of HTC's Touch 3G, with a frosty, opaque coloring and chrome accents and virtually identical external feature placement. Phone is available in storm gray. Display Screen Size and FunctionsThe HTC Touch Viva features a somewhat small 2.8 inch TFT LCD touchscreen. Resolution is average at 240 x 320 pixels, and the display screen boasts HTC's TouchFLO finger swipe navigation as well as stylus handwriting recognition. The device also features a 2 megapixel built-in camera with a 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution. Onboard camera also supports video capture. Connectivity and Productivity OptionsMicrosoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS is included and users will be able to access productivity software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a PDF viewer with Microsoft Pocket Office. Hefty 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM capacities and a TI OMAP 850, 201 MHz processor fuel the device's software offerings. Expansion is supported via microSD (TransFlash). PC sync is available via miniUSB. Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP is included. Users will be able to send and receive email messages as well as log on to online instant messaging applications. SMS and MMS are also supported.
