Active-X installs by default with Internet Explorer. If you have installed Internet Explorer, you don't need to install Active-X, but you may need to configure it.
How to Configure Active-X in Internet Explorer
Open the Tools menu /li>
Click Internet Options
Click the Security tab
The Internet zone will be selected by default
Choose one of the following paths:
Use your mouse to move the slider bar up and down to change your security level
Click and select each security setting individually
Click Ok

Install Active-X for Firefox
Firefox does not support Active-X controls.
It is extremely unlikely that Firefox will ever support Active-X controls.
You can download a third-party Mozilla Active-X Plug-in which is designed to support Active-X for custom, legacy and intranet solutions.
