How to Change Your AOL Password

There could arise two fundamental conditions where you would like to change your AOL password. One is when you have forgotten the AOL password and need to recover it; second is when you just need a change of the AOL password. Changing the AOL Password

The following steps show in detail how to change your AOL password when you already know your current password. In order to change your AOL password:

1. Sign in to your AOL Mail Account from AOL
2. When you sign-in, you will be taken to the My Account page. Click on the Edit link next to the Password field.
   
3. The next page will ask you enter your current password, a new password and retype the new password for conformation.
   
4. Click on Continue to carry on with the change of password.
   
5. If the entered information is correct, your password information will be updated. Hence, next time you can login with your new password.

Recover a Forgotten AOL Password

Someday, you may need to change/recover your AOL password because you have forgotten it. In order to recover your AOL password, follow the below steps:

1. Go to AOL. Click on the Forgot password link just below the password text field on the sign-in from.
   
2. The next page will ask you for the Email/Screen Name and Word In Image for verification. The latter verifies that you are a human and not some computer operated program.
   
3. You will be provided with two options for password retrieval. You could either provide your alternate mail address or date of birth (with gender and zip code). Enter whichever is feasible or known to you. Click on Submit.
   
4. Enter the answer to your secret question. Click on Submit.
   
5. Enter and retype the new password for confirmation. Click Submit.
   
6. You password will be changed/updated. Next time, you can login with your new password.
