The sporty, durable, and rugged outer case of the Audiovox 8425 makes this cell phone the right fit for the active rough-housing types. People who work hard for a living will find this cell phone to be durable to stand up to some of the knocks and abuse of a demanding job. The large buttons make dialing numbers easy when you're in the middle of doing a task. For added convenience it features the ability to voice dial the numbers you program into the cell phone. A speaker phone makes handsfree speaking a nice and easy capability. The user can either speak the name of the contact in their phonebook or voice dial by number. Each contact is able to have a total of five phone numbers. The talk time at 150 minutes is quite low. The standby time is 103 hours, which is below average too. A Li Ion 900 mAh battery powers the phone.

The phone is relatively lightweight at just 3.1 ounces, so it can be kept easily in a pocket. The display is easily readable at 128 x 128 pixel resolution. The display supports approximately 4,096 colors. As many as three alarms can be set simultaneously to alert the user at various times. The outer dimensions of the Audiovox 8425 are 4.3"x 1.8"x 0.7" centimeters. The phone gains reception from an extendable antenna in the form of a bar stub.

Additional useful phone features are: a calculator, a calendar, ringtones, data and text capability, a GPS locator, voice memo, wireless Internet, and high speed processing of 1xRTT. The three modes of the Audiovox 8425 are AMPS 850/CDMA 850/CDMA 1900.

The Audiovox 8425 has some appealing characteristics that make it a nice choice for people on the move.
