When the original iPhone was released in 2007, the idea was that it would be hard to improve on the design and function. To an extent, the new Apple iPhone 3G proves this to be true. There are not a lot of changes or enhancements to be found with this latest version. Still, those slight changes may be enough to help the unit capture a larger share of the market.
The general operation of the 3G is no different from the 2007 model. Simply using the fingertip allows users to access all types of services and features. There is also no change in the size or feel of the phone itself. It still weighs about the same and fits into the hand with ease. What is enhanced is the browsing capability. The iPhone 3G will move around the web much faster than a lot of the competition. Moving from one web page to another is quicker than ever, and downloading functions have never been so smooth. The GPS feature is also great on this model. While still not including step by step instructions on turns, there is some talk that this is coming. Despite that, the search on the GPS is fast and can provide you with displays that will help you get where you are going without a lot of trouble. If you already have an Apple iPhone, you may or may not be interested in upgrading so soon. After all, there is not a lot of difference. But anyone who passed on the 2007 model should seriously consider looking at the 3G. With an established track record for the line in place and some great features, you might be ready to make a commitment. Pros
Cons
OverallAll in all, this phone is not likely to inspire many people to upgrade if they already have an Apple iPhone. But it could be just enough to entice new users into the fold. Click on the photo for more information on the Apple iPhone 3G
